The set contains a round rope and a high temperature glue for a do it yourself replacement of the fireplace door gasket
Remove the used rope gasket from the door frame or the fireplace body. Clean the surface thoroughly. Cut the finish tape into two pieces, take off the paper protection and wrap the end of the gasket. Be careful not to change the rope’s diameter. Cut off the remaining section of the rope together with the tape. Spread a thin layer of glue on the bottom of the groove. Start the placement of the rope from the bottom surface of the groove. Push the rope gasket into the glue but do not stretch or squeeze the gasket during the process. After filling the groove adjust the length of the rope gasket adding ca. 1 cm. Secure the second end of the rope gasket with the remaining part of the tape. Cut off the excess and put the remaining rope gasket in, not leaving any space between the ends. Close the fireplace door and open it in order to check if the rope gasket fits correctly. Leave the door open for the glue to dry off for at least 4-5 hours. A regular replacement of the gasket every 2 years is recommended due to safety reasons and lower fuel consumption.
